Welcome to 1985. We are a Philadelphia based film and video production team that specializes in documentary and branded content.

For the last two decades we’ve been working hard to continuously prove that you don’t have to sacrifice high-end visuals for authenticity.

We haven’t been proven wrong yet.

We work with a diverse network of seasoned industry professionals and curate production teams to meet our individual client’s needs. We also partner with external agencies and media groups by providing creative and technical production support on the ground or in post.

We like to fly solo too!

Bethany began her career as a professional stage actor and production supervisor for live performances and events. She migrated into the film and video production world over 15 years ago as an actor and program host. When she discovered that the production team could wear running sneakers and a baseball hat to work, she quickly pivoted off camera as a post production story editor and never looked back.

Bethany credits her background in theatre and storytelling as the perfect training ground for learning how to listen carefully to the needs of clients and stakeholders and how to conduct authentic interviews with documentary subjects. It’s where she learned how to cultivate supportive, creative environments for production teams and how to keep a cool head and good sense of humor under pressure. (Because who are we kidding? This job can be uber stressful but that doesn’t give you a free pass to be a jerk! Being nice can go a long way…)

Recent work includes three seasons as a producer and field producer, respectively, on a Netflix, sports themed, docuseries and a nature themed series that currently streams on Magnolia Network/Max. Bethany has produced, directed, and edited over 50 videos for Comcast and has extensive experience in pre-production coordination and administration.

Bethany holds a degree in acting from the University of the Arts, School of Theatre Arts, is certified in four weapons in Stage Combat, and has eight years of martial arts training.
